Module 1: Who I am

Learning outcomes: Students use Spanish 1 review vocabulary and grammar to talk about who they are, likes, dislikes, what they do during school and after schools and favorite places to go, all in the present tense.

Module 2: My daily routine

Learning outcomes: Students masters fundamental grammar concepts such as gender and number of nouns and adjectives. They are able to talk about and describe their daily routine items used to prepare and special events preparation routines and communicate about shopping and everyday errands and going to every day places around their community.

Module 3: My last vacation

Learning outcomes: Students discuss past vacations and experiences using past tense preterite. Students know how to conjugate regular and irregular preterite.

Module 4: My childhood

Learning outcomes: Students know how to discuss and describe their childhood experiences using imperfect past tense. They are able to conjugate regular and irregular imperfect tense. In addition, students understand the differences and uses of preterite and imperfect.

Module 5: Food preparation and cooking

Learning outcomes: Students know how to talk about food preparation and cooking. They are able to use informal and formal commands to talk about food recipes. They explore hispanic recipes.

Module 6: Exploring Hispanic Art

Learning outcome: Students know how to express their opinion about Hispanic art. In addition, they will be able to compare and contrast how art impacts their culture. The present subjunctive will be introduced along with other key advanced grammar concepts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much work and time my son or daughter has to put into the course weekly?
I recommend students block 5-6 hours every week. I provide students with a suggested daily, weekly calendar to pace the course.
Does this course meets credit requirements for a high school diploma?
Yes. the curriculum standards meet states requirements. My courses prepare students who want to pursue Spanish courses at a college level.
If my teen did not take Spanish 1 with you can he or she take your Spanish 2 course?
Yes. Howerver, I will need to do a general Spanish 1 skill evaluation to recommend areas of improvement if necessary. Students are expected to master the present tense. Howerver, module 1 will focus on reviewing Spanish 1 skills. Remember, Spanish builts from previous skills. All Spanish 1 skills will be used again throughout Spanish 2.

What kind of technology my student needs to participate in your course?
Computer or device that your student can access the online platform. Earbuds with a microphone, A device with a camera. Google account to access Google drive to organize their quarterly work, we use Google docs and Google presentations.
What happens if my student needs extra help?
Students can reach me via email. Also, if they need to meet with me live during the week we will set up a time to meet virtually. I also I have Study Hall hours are Thursdays 5:00-6:00 pm EST
